Voice of Youth News

Your Street. Your Voice. Your Responsibility.

Who we are

Voice of Youth News is a public-interest digital news platform. We report the issues that matter to young people and their communities — and we check the facts before we publish.

We publish verified news, explainers, investigations, fact checks, civic reporting, youth opportunities and VOY 40 — short video news in 30–40 seconds that tells you what happened, what is verified, why it matters and what the public should know.

Our mission

To give young people trustworthy, useful journalism: reporting that informs, explains and helps people act — built on accuracy, verification and responsibility rather than speed or sensationalism.

Our editorial philosophy

See. Verify. Voice. Connect. Solve.

  1. 1

    See

Notice the issues that affect people’s lives — on the street, online and in public institutions.

  2. 2

    Verify

Check every fact against evidence before it is published. Accuracy comes before speed.

  3. 3

    Voice

Report clearly and fairly, giving space to the people affected and the people responsible.

  4. 4

    Connect

Connect citizens, communities and the authorities who can act.

  5. 5

    Solve

Follow up, so that journalism contributes to solutions — not just headlines.

Why youth voices matter

Young people are affected by almost every public decision — from exam schedules and scholarships to roads, jobs and digital rights — yet their questions are often missing from the news. We want young people to see their concerns reported accurately, understand how public systems work, and know where to go for answers.

Our tagline says it simply: Your Street. Your Voice. Your Responsibility. Good journalism starts where people live, and it carries a responsibility to be fair and accurate.

How we work

Editorial principles

Accuracy

We would rather be right than first. If we cannot confirm something, we say so — or we do not publish it.

Verification

Claims are checked with documents, data, on-the-ground reporting and more than one source wherever possible.

Fairness

We report in the public interest, not for sensation. We avoid unnecessary confrontation and we do not pass final judgment.

Evidence

Evidence comes before accusation. Serious claims about people or institutions must be supported by evidence.

Right of reply

People and institutions we report on are given a fair opportunity to respond before publication.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it openly. Report an error.

  • Accuracy before Speed
  • Verification before Publication
  • Evidence before Accusation
  • Public Interest before Sensationalism
  • Right of Reply before Final Judgment
  • Responsibility before Virality
  • Dialogue before Unnecessary Confrontation
  • Truth before Popularity

Advertising and sponsored content are always clearly labelled and kept separate from our independent journalism.
